WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – In a grim blow to the drug trade in Wetzel County, Nolan Eugene McCray, 39, of Bay City, Texas, was today handed an 87-month sentence for aiding and abetting the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Court documents and testimonies revealed that McCray had been selling meth in the area. During a search of his lodgings, authorities uncovered not only meth but also nearly $15,000 in cash, a clear indicator of his involvement in the drug trade.
Following his prison term, McCray will be subjected to three years of supervised release, ensuring he remains under watch following his release.
The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Clayton Reid, who represented the interests of the government with unwavering determination.
The investigation into McCray’s activities was a collaborative effort between the Marshall County Drug Task Force, which is funded through the HIDTA initiative, and the Wetzel County Sheriff’s office. Their combined efforts led to the successful dismantling of McCray’s meth operation.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing, ensuring that justice was served in this drug trafficking case.
