Tiger Dean Draggoo, Fentanyl Trafficking, Missouri 2023

KANSAS CITY, MO – A 22-year-old Kansas City man is facing federal charges after authorities connected him to at least three fatal fentanyl overdoses in Belton, Missouri. Tiger Dean Draggoo was arrested after a months-long investigation that culminated in a raid on his apartment, uncovering a significant cache of illegal weapons and a hefty sum of cash.

According to federal court documents unsealed Monday, Draggoo is accused of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, possessing firearms – including two machine guns – in furtherance of drug trafficking, and illegally possessing machine guns. The investigation began to heat up following three deaths between January and September of 2022, all linked to fentanyl intoxication and involving individuals associated with Draggoo. Police reports also detail multiple instances where juveniles were found overdosing on fentanyl, one of whom is among the deceased.

The trail to Draggoo’s arrest was paved with evasive maneuvers. In July 2022, officers attempted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger driven by Draggoo, but he allegedly fled. Later, in September, he led officers on another brief chase in a Jeep Renegade before returning to his apartment. When authorities arrived to search the premises, Draggoo’s girlfriend initially denied his presence, claiming he wasn’t home, before admitting he’d fled out the back door.

The search of Draggoo’s apartment yielded a disturbing arsenal. Officers seized a total of 17 firearms, including a converted Del-Ton 5.56-caliber rifle and a Glock switch capable of turning a pistol into a fully automatic weapon. The collection also included three Marlin .22-caliber rifles, a Norinco 7.62-caliber rifle, a Mosin-Nagant rifle, an Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 .223-caliber rifle, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, an Armscorp USA .308-caliber rifle, a Century Arms 7.62-caliber rifle, two revolvers, and three pistols. Beyond the weaponry, officers found $246,769 in cash, a ballistic vest with plates, a money counter, fentanyl pills, suspected LSD tabs, and marijuana.

Draggoo, 22, of Kansas City, Missouri, remains in federal custody awaiting a detention hearing. He is currently charged with one count of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, one count of possessing firearms, including machine guns, in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, and one count of illegally possessing machine guns. If convicted on all counts, Draggoo faces a potentially lengthy prison sentence. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri is prosecuting the case.

The ATF, along with local law enforcement, continues to investigate the full extent of Draggoo’s operation and any potential co-conspirators. This case underscores the deadly combination of fentanyl trafficking and illegal firearms flooding the streets and the devastating consequences for communities across the country. This isn’t just about drugs; it’s about a man allegedly profiting from death while arming himself for war.
