The crime took place in May 2021 near Ritchie Elementary School in Ohio County, West Virginia. According to officials, Vossen sold fentanyl in close proximity to the school, putting the lives of students and staff at risk.

As a result of the guilty plea, Vossen faces a minimum of one year and up to 40 years of incarceration. In addition to the prison sentence, he may also be required to pay a fine of up to $2,000,000.
