Citizenship Ceremony in Collinsville Brings New Hope
In a heartwarming display of unity, the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, both of the Southern District of Illinois, will participate in a naturalization ceremony to welcome new citizens in Collinsville on Wednesday.
The event, scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at the Gateway Convention Center, will see 61 candidates from 27 countries take the Oath of Allegiance. U.S. Attorney Steven D. Weinhoeft expressed his enthusiasm in acknowledging the efforts of these individuals who have prioritized entering the U.S. legally.
As the nation prepares to celebrate its independence on Friday, Weinhoeft reminded everyone of the country’s long-standing tradition of accepting immigrants from all over the world. He emphasized the shared values of liberty and freedom that bind the people together.
