Mohammad Shoaib Taraki, a Las Vegas resident, has pleaded guilty to exploiting two children in his care and possessing hundreds of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) between December 2024 and January 2026. Taraki, who used Snapchat to send and receive CSAM, admitted to producing sexually explicit visual depictions of the children. The investigation, which involved the FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, led to Taraki’s guilty plea.
Taraki’s crimes involved the production and possession of CSAM, including over 600 images and videos depicting sadistic or masochistic conduct, infants and toddlers, and minors under the age of 12. He also sent 53 videos of CSAM and received 21 videos and one image of CSAM from other users on Snapchat.
The guilty plea was announced by First Assistant United States Attorney Sigal Chattah and Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto for the FBI Las Vegas Field Office. Taraki faces up to 30 years in prison for each count of sexual exploitation of children and up to 20 years in prison for possession of child pornography.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse launched by the Department of Justice in 2006. Assistant United States Attorney Afroza Yeasmin is prosecuting the case, which is set for sentencing on August 26, 2026.
