A 42-year-old Victorville man used Instagram to pose as a teenage football player and lure two 14-year-old girls into sending him sexually explicit images and videos.
Daniel Navarro, 42, was sentenced to 540 months in federal prison for his crimes, which included transporting one of the victims to Tijuana, Mexico, for the purpose of engaging in illicit sex.
Navarro used the handles ‘dn.2021.01’ and ‘dn84831’ to pose as ‘Danny,’ a 15-year-old football player from California, and enticed the victims into producing explicit images of themselves.
The victims were from San Luis Obispo County and Arizona, and one was flown to Mexico by Navarro in June 2022.
A review of one of Navarro’s Instagram accounts revealed conversations between Navarro and one of the victims in which Navarro professed his love for the victim and discussed getting her pregnant.
