A North Miami Beach woman is headed to federal prison after being caught with a notebook stuffed with the stolen identities of 225 real people. Vicky Egalite Pierre was sentenced to 36 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for hoarding names, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth culled from unsuspecting victims.
Pierre previously pled guilty to one count of possession of fifteen or more unauthorized access devices, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1029(a)(3), and one count of aggravated identity theft, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1028A(a)(1). The charges stem from a routine probation compliance check at her residence, where law enforcement discovered the damning notebook hidden in her nightstand.
Forensic analysis exposed the depth of Pierre’s crime. The notebook was processed for latent fingerprints—six distinct prints from multiple pages were matched to Pierre. The personal identifying information inside was not random; investigators confirmed with at least one victim that the details were real and had been taken without consent. Pierre admitted she knew the data belonged to actual individuals.
Wifredo A. Ferrer, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, joined top federal investigators in announcing the sentence. Agencies involved include IRS-Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI), U.S. Department of Labor Office of Inspector General (DOL-OIG), ICE-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI), and the North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD)—all of which played key roles in building the case.
Ferrer praised the collaborative takedown, highlighting the precision and persistence of IRS-CI, DOL-OIG, ICE-HSI, and NMBPD. He also extended gratitude to the State of Florida Probation Office for their critical assistance in uncovering the trove of stolen identities. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Rothstein.
