MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking case of child neglect, Salasha Fae Bosley, 26, of Wagoner, has been sentenced to a staggering 168 months in prison for each of two counts of Child Neglect in Indian Country. The sentences were ordered to run concurrently.
The sentence was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma following an investigation led by the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Bosley pleaded guilty on December 12, 2024.
According to investigators, between September 2023 and June 16, 2024, Bosley failed to provide two children with essential care, including nurturance, food, shelter, sanitation, hygiene, medical care, supervision, and sanitary living conditions. The neglect led to one child sustaining life-threatening injuries that will require lifelong medical intervention.
The crimes took place within the Cherokee Nation Reservation in Wagoner County, Oklahoma. FBI Oklahoma City Special Agent in Charge Doug Goodwater expressed his disappointment: “The defendant willfully and shamelessly put two innocent children at grave risk by neglecting to provide for their most basic needs.”
United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson echoed these sentiments, stating, “The appalling neglect these children endured is inexcusable. We are proud to stand with our law enforcement partners to protect the most vulnerable in our communities and hold offenders accountable.” The Honorable John F. Heil, III, presided over the hearing.
Bosley was remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her non-paroleable sentence. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole Paladino represented the United States in the case.
