Woodville Men Sentenced to Federal Prison for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine and Cocaine
In a major blow to the narcotics trade in Wilkinson County, two men from Woodville, Mississippi, have been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine.
According to court documents, Warren Jerome Goss, Jr., a 25-year-old resident of Woodville, was sentenced to 70 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. Goss, also known as ‘Jay,’ pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine hydrochloride.
Michael Jackson, a 45-year-old resident of Woodville, also known as ‘Bear,’ was sentenced to 108 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Jackson was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 26, 2021, and subsequently pled guilty to the same charges as Goss.
The investigation, led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), revealed that Goss and Jackson conspired to and did distribute methamphetamine and cocaine hydrochloride in Woodville between October 2019 and June 2020.
Undercover ATF agents conducted multiple controlled purchases of methamphetamine and cocaine hydrochloride from the duo during this time period. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bert Carraway.
The sentences handed down to Goss and Jackson serve as a reminder of the consequences of involvement in the narcotics trade. The community is safer with these individuals behind bars, and we hope that this case will serve as a deterrent to others who may be considering similar activities.
