John Doe, Armed Trafficking, Wisconsin 2023

⏱ 2 min read

A high-speed motorcycle chase down a dead-end road, a loaded gun hidden in a cooler, and a stash of over 50 grams of methamphetamine in his pockets – that’s how Patrick J. Buswell’s reign as a Wisconsin meth kingpin came to an end. The 51-year-old Holcombe man was sentenced to 9 years in federal prison for armed methamphetamine trafficking.

Buswell’s crime spree hit a fever pitch on June 15, 2025, when he led cops on a heart-stopping chase, reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour on his motorcycle. The law eventually cornered him, but not before he abandoned his bike and took off on foot.

When arrested, Buswell was found with a small fortune in cash – $1,600 – and a cache of controlled substances, including digital scales. The ATF and local law enforcement agencies had been tracking Buswell for months, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson slammed Buswell for his lengthy criminal history and reckless behavior, urging him to take advantage of prison substance abuse programming.
