A 16-year-old girl’s frantic 911 call on June 4, 2024, sparked a probe into the sex trafficking of a minor in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Dwayne Davis, 31, was accused of preying on the teen’s vulnerability after meeting her online in the spring of 2024.
According to court documents, Davis transported the girl from her home in Viroqua to La Crosse for prostitution dates, posting online ads for her services and keeping nearly all the earnings.
Davis pleaded guilty to sex trafficking a minor on January 12, 2026. At sentencing, Chief U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson called Davis’s actions ‘monstrous,’ citing his history of domestic violence and the victim’s call to 911 as evidence of his capacity for violence.
Davis was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release.
