Timothy Lennard Gebhart, Child Sextortion, Minnesota 2024

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The grim tale of exploitation has unfolded in Minnesota as Timothy Lennard Gebhart, a 37-year-old resident of Woodbury, has been hit with an array of charges related to child pornography and sextortion. According to U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger, Gebhart is accused of coerced minors into sexually explicit conduct, with the intention of producing pornographic content.

Between July 10, 2021, and March 11, 2022, court documents reveal that Gebhart targeted a 16-year-old known as Minor A, and a 14-year-old identified as Minor B. The accused is alleged to have produced videos featuring the minors’ explicit actions and then distributed them through digital means. Gebhart’s reign of terror didn’t end there; he reportedly used these videos to extort money from one victim, threatening to tarnish their reputation by exposing nude images to family and friends.

The indictment filed against Gebhart lists two counts of production and attempted production of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of interstate communications with intent to extort. His first appearance in U.S. District Court was on June 21, 2024, before Magistrate Judge Douglas L. Micko.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Justice Department initiative combating the epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The investigation leading to Gebhart’s charges involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Woodbury Police Department, Greene County (Indiana) Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, and the FBI, with support from the Owatonna Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David M. Classen is handling the prosecution of this disturbing case. As always, an indictment is merely an allegation, and Gebhart is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
