Kuron Christopher Grant, a 23-year-old from Asheville, North Carolina, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine and possessing firearms. Grant, who was already on state probation for previous convictions, was investigated by law enforcement for suspected drug trafficking in Buncombe County. Between August and September 2025, Grant sold fentanyl and methamphetamine to law enforcement on six occasions, as well as firearms, including a stolen AR rifle.
On November 4, 2025, Grant was arrested and found with a short-barreled rifle fitted with an extended magazine in his backpack. In total, Grant was responsible for distributing over 119 grams of pure methamphetamine and over 181 grams of fentanyl, and had illegally possessed three firearms. Grant’s sentence will run at the expiration of his North Carolina sentence for violating his state probation.
The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with the Asheville Police Department, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson stated that Grant’s sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes, and that those who are given a second chance and return to a life of crime will face severe consequences.
Grant is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Hess of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
