Michael Myers, Possession of Child Pornography, Massachusetts 2026

⏱ 2 min read

A 39-year-old Lunenburg man, Michael Myers, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for possessing child sexual abuse material. The sentencing took place in federal court in Worcester, where Myers pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in March 2026. Myers, a registered sex offender, was arrested and charged in December 2024 and has remained in federal custody since then.

In 2015, Myers was convicted of possession of child sexual abuse material and was sentenced to two years’ probation by state authorities. However, he continued to engage in illicit activities, transmitting CSAM files through a Kik Messenger account and a Reddit account, which were identified in August 2023 and April 2024, respectively.

A search of Myers’ residence in December 2024 revealed an anonymous private messenger application on his cell phone, which showed that several videos and pictures depicting CSAM were sent and received. The investigation was led by the United States Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Lunenburg Police Department.

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. Assistant U.S. Attorney Danial Bennett of the Worcester Branch Office prosecuted the case, which resulted in Myers being sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
