Tampa, Florida – A Kissimmee drug dealer, Nathaniel Quiles (37), has been sentenced to 9 years and 4 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. The court ordered that the sentence be served consecutive to a State of Florida prison sentence of 15 years, which Quiles is currently serving.
Quiles had pleaded guilty to the federal charges on June 17, 2021. According to court documents, in 2017, Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies found him in possession of 14 or more grams of heroin, leading to state charges of trafficking in heroin. A State Court jury convicted Quiles in 2018 for the same offense.
The FBI had also been tracking Quiles as a heroin dealer in Orlando. During Quiles’ pending trial, the FBI learned he was owed payment for a previous delivery and used a confidential source to settle the debt, purchasing an additional 100 grams of heroin. Quiles, confined to his home at the time, utilized co-conspirators to distribute the drugs and collect payments.
This investigation was a collaborative effort between the United States Attorney’s Office, FBI, DEA, Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, and Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Michael Sinacore prosecuted the case.
The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles high-level criminal organizations. For more information on OCDETF, visit www.justice.gov/OCDETF.
