Quenin Owen Brown, Felon in Possession, W.Va. 2024

Huntington, W.Va. – The grimy underbelly of West Virginia’s criminal landscape is exposed as Quenin Owen Brown, 34, of Shady Spring, pleads guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on December 28, 2024, law enforcement officers encountered Brown at a gas station in Nitro. Officers arrested him on a parole violation warrant, only to discover he had a loaded HS Produkt Hellcat 9mm pistol tucked away. A search of his vehicle turned up two additional loaded handguns: a Glock model 43 and a Taurus G3, all reported stolen.

Brown’s previous brush with the law included convictions for unlawful wounding and methamphetamine possession in Kanawha County Circuit Court. Despite knowing he was prohibited from possessing firearms, Brown defied federal law by doing so.

Scheduled to be sentenced on October 27, 2025, Brown faces a formidable penalty of up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine. The ATF and Nitro Police Department are hailed for their diligent work.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a DOJ initiative aimed at eliminating transnational criminal organizations and violent crime. For more information on this pressing matter, visit the U.S. Attorney’s Office website or PACER by searching Case No. 3:25-cr-84.
