BUFFALO, N.Y. – Jonathan Dale, a 61-year-old man from Clarence, N.Y., has finally faced the music for his prolonged and egregious failure to pay court-ordered child support obligations. Dale, who failed to pay child support totaling approximately $90,000, pleaded guilty to failure to pay child support before Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti and Maura O’Donnell, who are handling the case, Dale’s actions spanned nearly two decades, from May of 1999 to the present. His blatant disregard for the law has left numerous parties affected, including the child he failed to support.
The conviction is the result of an investigation led by Special Agents of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Thomas O’Donnell.
According to the U.S. Attorney, Dale could face up to six months in prison, a $5,000 fine, or both, as punishment for his crimes. Sentencing is scheduled for March 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Schroeder.
