A 28-year-old Council Bluffs, Iowa, man has been sentenced for his role in a federal sex crime case. Achocho Enita, was sentenced to 97 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by five years of supervised release.
The sentence was handed down by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. on January 2021.
The case against Enita began on July 13, 2021, when he responded to an online ad posted by a law enforcement officer who posed as a 15-year-old female offering commercial sex.
Over the next ten days, Enita arranged to meet the person he thought was a minor female and pay to have sex with her. He traveled from Council Bluffs to Omaha, Nebraska, for the meeting.
Enita was arrested after he had traveled from Council Bluffs to Omaha, Nebraska, for the meeting. The case was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, as part of the FBI Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force (CEHTTF).
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006. Led by United States Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
Following his prison sentence, Enita will be removed to Micronesia. There is no parole in the federal system.
