Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 180 Months in Prison
A Fort Wayne man has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Adrian L. Johnson, 50, was arrested after a traffic stop revealed a stash of methamphetamine, firearms, and cash in his vehicle. According to court documents, Johnson was stopped for having an expired registration on February 10, 2024. During the stop, a police K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to the discovery of 42 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of a substance containing a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl, and multiple firearms.
The investigation into Johnson’s activities was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Brent Ecenbarger prosecuted the case, which resulted in Johnson’s guilty plea to possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Johnson was sentenced to 180 months in prison, followed by 8 years of supervised release. The court also ordered Johnson to forfeit $1,678 in cash that was seized during the investigation. The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of community cooperation in combating this type of crime.
Johnson’s sentence is a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in the Fort Wayne area, and law enforcement officials are hopeful that it will serve as a deterrent to others who would engage in similar activities.
Crime statistics indicate that methamphetamine trafficking is a growing concern in the region, and law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to disrupt the supply chain and bring those responsible to justice.
The case is a prime example of the collaborative efforts between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to combat narcotics trafficking and keep communities safe.
