Justin William Gifford, Attempted Enticement of a Minor, Florida 2025

⏱ 2 min read

Justin William Gifford, a 26-year-old from Enterprise, Alabama, attempted to entice a minor and was caught in a multi-agency law enforcement operation in June 2025. Gifford responded to an online ad and engaged in explicit conversations with an undercover investigator posing as a 15-year-old. He sent an explicit photo and planned to meet the child, but was arrested upon arrival in Panama City Beach.

Gifford’s conversations with the undercover investigator became increasingly explicit over a two-day period. He was tracked electronically as he traveled from Alabama to Florida, where he was arrested. Forensic analysis of his phone verified the communications and the obscene image.

Gifford was found guilty by a federal jury in Tallahassee of attempted enticement of a minor, attempted transfer of obscene material to minors, and travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct. He was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by a five-year period of supervised release.

Law enforcement officials praised the sentence, warning that they will continue to aggressively prosecute those who exploit and victimize children online. Sheriff Tommy Ford said, ‘Our message to anyone who preys on children is simple: don’t.’

Gifford’s case serves as a reminder of the dangers of online exploitation and the importance of law enforcement efforts to protect children.
