Amontea Allen John Mitchell, a 28-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida, has pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a minor online and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. In April 2026, Mitchell responded to an online ad for a female escort, unaware it was an undercover operation by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Tallahassee Police Department. He began communicating with an undercover officer posing as a 15-year-old child, sending an obscene photograph and asking the child to produce child pornography.
Mitchell’s communications with the undercover officer led to his arrest near an arranged meeting location. Upon searching his backpack, law enforcement found three condoms and a firearm, which he is prohibited from possessing due to his prior felony convictions.
