Local Man Sentenced to 78 Months in Prison for Methamphetamine Conspiracy

SCRANTON – A Hazleton man has been sentenced to 78 months’ imprisonment for conspiring to distribute over 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

Alex Pazmino, age 36, was arrested on April 29, 2016, upon receiving a significant shipment of methamphetamine from California.

According to Acting United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Pazmino subsequently pleaded guilty, acknowledging his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy.

At sentencing, the Court found that Pazmino was responsible for conspiring to distribute over 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine.

The matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffery St John prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that has been historically successful in bringing together all levels of law enforcement to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Pazmino was sentenced on April 6, 2021, to 78 months’ imprisonment and a 4-year term of supervised release by United States District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani.
