A 20-year-old Ada woman has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for a violent attack on an elderly woman at an Ada residence.
Amya Elise Walker was found guilty of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country, a federal crime.
The attack occurred on May 13, 2023, at an Ada residence in Pontotoc County, within the boundaries of the Chickasaw Nation Reservation.
According to investigators, Walker violently attacked the elderly woman, leaving her with multiple bruises and lacerations requiring medical care.
Walker pleaded guilty to the charge on September 25, 2023, and was sentenced by the Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Walker will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Gross represented the United States in the case.
The Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police and the Bureau of Indian Affairs investigated the crime.
