Guatemalan National Indicted for Unlawful Reentry in Texas
SHERMAN, Texas – In a recent move to combat the influx of illegal immigration, a Guatemalan national has been charged with unlawfully returning to the United States. Anibal Gonzalez-Corado, 54, was named in an indictment returned by a federal grand jury this week in the Eastern District of Texas charging him with illegal reentry by a previously deported alien.
The indictment alleges that on February 1, 2025, Gonzalez-Corado was found in the Eastern District of Texas after having been previously deported. This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the federal government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect communities from violent crime.
Gonzalez-Corado faces up to 2 years in federal prison and deportation if convicted. This case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Chalana Oliver.
A federal indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. The investigation and prosecution of this case are part of the Justice Department’s commitment to combating violent crime and protecting American communities.
The indictment alleges that Gonzalez-Corado was previously deported from the United States and has since returned to the country illegally. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to address the issue of illegal immigration and protect the border.
Gonzalez-Corado’s indictment is a result of the tireless efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the influx of illegal immigration and protect American communities.
