Georgia Woman Sentenced for Methamphetamine Possession and Distribution in Louisiana
April Nicole Grizzard, a 32-year-old woman from Milledgeville, Georgia, has been sentenced for her role in a methamphetamine distribution scheme in Louisiana.
Grizzard was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute fifty grams or more of methamphetamine, according to court documents.
On September 2014, a woman in Atlanta agreed to deliver one-half pound of methamphetamine to an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent in Metairie. The woman employed an individual named Allison Chriswell to deliver the drugs. Grizzard, who assisted in obtaining the drugs for delivery, accompanied Chriswell to Metairie to deliver the drugs.
When Grizzard and Chriswell arrived in Metairie with the methamphetamine, DEA Agents arrested them.
Grizzard previously pleaded guilty to the two counts of a Superseding Indictment and was sentenced to time served (10 months in jail prior to being released on bond) and five years’ supervised release.
U.S. District Judge Martin L.C. Feldman handed down the sentence. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was commended for their work in investigating the matter. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andre’ Jones was in charge of the prosecution.
As part of her sentence, Grizzard must complete five years of supervised release. The case serves as a reminder of the consequences of involvement in methamphetamine distribution.
