Alexa Marie Braud, a 34-year-old former bank manager from Gretna, Louisiana, has admitted to stealing $185,000 from a credit union in her hometown. On February 4, 2026, Braud walked into the credit union where she worked and made off with the cash. The crime was discovered and investigated by the Gretna Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Braud pleaded guilty to bank theft on July 30, 2026, before U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier. She faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and restitution. Her sentencing is set for October 22, 2026.
