Berkeley County Woman Faces 40 Years for Fentanyl, Heroin, Cocaine Charge

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a shocking turn of events, 29-year-old Destiny Lee Dabbs, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges involving the distribution of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine.

According to court documents, Dabbs admitted to working with others to distribute the deadly substances from August 2020 to June 2021 in Berkeley County and elsewhere. The combined weight of the drugs was estimated to be between 40 and 60 kilograms.

As part of her plea deal, Dabbs faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 for each of the two counts against her. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lara Omps-Botteicher and Timothy D. Helman are prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.

The guilty plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble.

Dabbs’s admission to the conspiracy charges marks a significant victory for law enforcement in the fight against drug trafficking in the Eastern Panhandle.

The investigation and prosecution of this case serve as a reminder that the consequences of engaging in drug trafficking are severe and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
