40-year-old Marcus De’Angelo Brown, hailing from Largo, Maryland, got hit with a 137-month federal prison sentence for his role in trafficking firearms and unlawfully possessing a weapon. The man known as Brown faces an eternity behind bars thanks to prior felony convictions that bar him from ever owning a firearm again.

Matthew Blake Robinson, 28, of Hedgesville, West Virginia, was sentenced to 37 months for participating in the straw purchase of a firearm. Brown and Robinson worked hand-in-hand to deceive authorities and transfer firearms both locally and beyond Berkeley County’s borders.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) took a stand against this nefarious activity with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lara Omps-Botteicher and Kyle Kane leading the prosecution. Their relentless pursuit of justice resulted in the conviction of these two criminals.

Investigations into the firearms trafficking were spearheaded by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a federal agency that combats gun-related crime with an unwavering commitment to public safety.

U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the sentencing hearing, ensuring that justice was served for the victims of Brown’s and Robinson’s criminal conspiracy.
