Biloxi Man Sentenced to 17 Years for Methamphetamine Conspiracy

A Biloxi man has been sentenced to 210 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy, announced U.S. Attorney Darren LaMarca and special Agent in Charge Brad Byerley of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Nicholas Paul Godsey, 41, was arrested in July 2021 after a traffic stop in Biloxi, during which Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agents found a stash of methamphetamine, a handgun, and other evidence of illicit activity.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Godsey had been involved in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, a Schedule II, federally controlled substance, since at least June 2021.

Godsey’s history of narcotics-related convictions and possession of firearms caught up with him, as he had previously served over 13 years in federal prison for similar offenses.

Godsey pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine on February 16, 2022.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the City of Biloxi Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Stan Harris prosecuted the case, bringing Godsey to justice for his role in the methamphetamine conspiracy.

At a time when methamphetamine addiction is a growing concern in Mississippi, Godsey’s sentence serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of involvement in the illicit narcotics trade.

Godsey’s sentencing brings an end to a lengthy investigation, and the people of Biloxi can rest a little easier knowing that one less methamphetamine dealer is on the streets.
