Jamon Charles Phetsacksith, a 27-year-old man from Jenks, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 33 months in prison for breaking his girlfriend’s leg in three places during a drunken argument in November 2024. The incident occurred when Phetsacksith, who had a key to his workplace, drove his girlfriend to pick up his paycheck after hours. An argument ensued, and Phetsacksith chased after his girlfriend, pushing her and causing serious injuries.
The victim’s injuries were severe, with her left ankle fractured and her tibia and fibula bones broken in half, requiring surgical rods and screws to be implanted. Phetsacksith initially claimed that his girlfriend had fallen down a flight of stairs, but later admitted to throwing her around during the altercation.
A federal jury convicted Phetsacksith of Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury in Indian Country, and he was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sara E. Hill. Phetsacksith, a member of the Osage Nation, will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Tulsa Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Mallory Richard and Stacey Todd. The sentence serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of domestic violence and the importance of seeking help if you or a loved one is in an abusive relationship.
