Brayan Zepeda Faces Eight Months in Prison for Unlawful Reentry

A Lawrence man has been sentenced to eight months in prison for reentering the United States after being deported, officials announced today.

Brayan Zepeda, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Julia E. Kobick to eight months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release. Upon completion of his sentence, Zepeda will be subject to deportation proceedings.

According to court documents, Zepeda, a citizen of Guatemala, was deported from the United States on January 12, 2023, after serving several state sentences for domestic assault and violation of a restraining order.

At some point after his deportation, Zepeda returned to the United States and was arrested by the Littleton Police Department in October 2023.

Zepeda pleaded guilty on March 28, 2024, to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Todd M. Lyons, Field Office Director, Boston, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations, made the announcement today.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Grady of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
