Shady Point Man Pleads Guilty to Sex Offender Registration Charge
MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Brian Jene Sullivan, age 66, of Shady Point, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to one count of failure to register as a sex offender.
The charge arose from an investigation by the U.S. Marshals Service, the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, and the Winston Police Department of Douglas County, Oregon.
Sullivan is required to register as a sex offender after having received a felony conviction from the State of Oregon in 2007 for Rape in the Third Degree and Sodomy in the Third Degree.
Between July 2023 and July 21, 2024, Sullivan knowingly failed to register and update his registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Morgan Muzljakovich represented the United States.
Sullivan’s sentencing date has not been set yet.
