BOISE, Idaho – A local woman has been caught in the act of distributing a controlled substance, leaving many to wonder what drove her down this path.
On October 18, 2012, Brittany Nicole Tillema, 25, of Boise, Idaho, knowingly and intentionally distributed to an undercover police officer, 32 pills of 80 mg Oxycontin, which contains oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic and controlled substance.
This heinous crime has left the community shaken, and authorities are working tirelessly to ensure that justice is served. The Meridian Police Department initiated the investigation, which was later taken over by the DEA-led Tactical Diversion Squad, a team comprised of law enforcement personnel from the DEA, Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Boise Police Department, Idaho State Police, Meridian Police Department, Nampa Police Department, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of Inspector General.
Tillema’s guilty plea is a significant blow to the community, and her sentencing is set for August 25, 2014, before U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge at the federal courthouse in Boise. This is a stark reminder that the consequences of distributing controlled substances can be severe.
