Brockport Man Sentenced for Gun and Pot Charges

A Brockport man is headed to prison after being convicted of participating in a conspiracy to distribute marijuana and possessing a firearm in furtherance of the marijuana distribution conspiracy. Jacob Disanto, 30, of Brockport, was sentenced to five years in prison by U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.

Disanto was stopped for speeding by a Brockport Police Officer while driving a vehicle with co-defendant Juan Morales. During the search, officers found small bags of marijuana and a loaded .22 caliber revolver. ‘Dime’ size bags of marijuana were among the items seized during the traffic stop.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Noto, who handled the case, stated that the defendant and co-defendant were stopped for speeding by a Brockport Police Officer. The officer found the marijuana and gun during the search.

The investigation was conducted by the Brockport Police Department under the direction of Chief Daniel Varrenti, and Special Agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge James S. Higgins.

The sentencing is the culmination of a lengthy investigation into the marijuana distribution conspiracy. Disanto will serve his sentence at a federal prison. The exact location of the prison was not disclosed.
