Omaha Man Sentenced for Firearm and Drug Trafficking Crimes

A 33-year-old Omaha man has been sentenced to 150 months in prison for his role in a drug trafficking operation. Cameron Carodine, 33, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. for possessing with the intent to distribute fentanyl and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.

According to court documents, on February 25, 2020, a confidential source purchased 500 fentanyl pills from Carodine during a controlled buy in Omaha. This purchase was part of an ongoing investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

On March 5, 2020, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on Carodine’s vehicle, a gray 2012 Chevrolet Malibu without license plates, and took him into custody. A search of his residence revealed several hundred fentanyl pills and a Glock 21, .45 caliber handgun.

Carodine will serve 90 months in prison for the drug charge and an additional 60 months for the firearm charge, for a total sentence of 150 months. After his release from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
