Lukas Allen Vogt, Methamphetamine Distribution, Nebraska 2022

Lukas Allen Vogt, 29, of Guttenberg, Iowa, has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine in Omaha, Nebraska.

According to a federal court in Omaha, Vogt was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. United States District Court Judge Brian C. Buescher handed down the sentence.

Vogt was also ordered to serve a three-year term of supervised release following his prison sentence. There is no parole in the federal system.

The investigation into Vogt’s activities began on August 26, 2021, when an Omaha Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at mile marker 441 eastbound on Interstate 80. Vogt was identified as the driver, and a passenger, Cody Lee Fischer, was also in the vehicle.

A Police Service Dog was deployed during the stop and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from within the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a bag of methamphetamine in the glove box, as well as two loaded semi-automatic handguns in a black duffle bag on the back seat.

The search of the trunk revealed approximately five pounds of methamphetamine in multiple sandwich bags. Vogt and Fischer were both arrested at the scene.

After their arrest, Fischer admitted to purchasing the methamphetamine in Denver, Colorado, and intending to sell it in Luxemburg, Iowa. He also admitted that the guns were his and that Vogt was being paid to drive. Vogt’s co-defendant, Fischer, was sentenced to 188 months’ imprisonment on July 6, 2022.
