Bath Salts Distribution Conspiracy Rocks Aroostook County
BANGOR, MAINE – In a shocking turn of events, Dustin Giles, a 30-year-old man from Caribou, Maine, has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute bath salts.
According to court records, Giles conspired with others in Aroostook County between January 2012 and June 2014 to obtain bath salts overseas via the internet and distribute it. Specifically, Giles was supplied with bath salts by another member of the conspiracy and distributed it to multiple customers.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency with assistance from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Giles faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $1,000,000. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
