Defendant Charged with Re-Entry of Removed Alien
Carlos Alberto Escobar-Loza, a 47-year-old Honduran man, has been charged with re-entry of a removed alien in Louisiana.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Escobar-Loza was found in the United States on December 26, 2025, having reentered the country without authorization from the Attorney General of the United States, after being previously deported on July 2, 2012.
Escobar-Loza faces up to two years imprisonment, a fine of up to $250,000, up to one year of supervised release, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.00 for re-entry of a removed alien.
U.S. Attorney David I. Courcelle reiterated that a bill of information is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the government to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
U.S. Attorney Courcelle praised the work of Homeland Security Investigations in investigating this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr. of the General Crimes Unit is in charge of the prosecution.
