Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Over 600 Images of Child Pornography

SIoux City, Iowa – Chad Moyle, 37, has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography, a crime that could land him in prison for up to 20 years.

According to a guilty plea entered on September 7, 2022, Moyle admitted to possessing over 600 images of child pornography from December 2018 through February 2019. These images were stored on his smartphone and depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, including minors who had not yet reached the age of 12.

Moyles’ arrest and subsequent prosecution are part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the federal government in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

As part of his plea agreement, Moyle faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and at least 5 years of supervised release following any imprisonment.

Moyles is currently being held in the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Kraig R. Hamit and investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
