Heroin Ring Torn Apart in Ohio

Two Chicago men, Marcellus C. Lee, 33, and Gregory A. Collins, aka ‘D.D.’, 36, have been charged with heroin-related crimes in Ohio.

According to the indictment, Lee and Collins are accused of conspiring to distribute a kilogram of heroin and possessing the illicit substance with the intent to distribute it.

The indictment was filed by the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Steven M. Dettelbach.

The investigation that led to the indictment was conducted by the Northern Ohio Law Enforcement Task Force (NOLETF) in Cleveland, Ohio.

The NOLETF is a multi-agency task force comprised of investigators from various law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christian H. Stickan.

If convicted, Lee and Collins’ sentence will be determined by the court after review of factors unique to their case, including their prior criminal records, roles in the offense, and characteristics of the violation.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendants are entitled to a fair trial in which the government will have to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
