Christian Iversen Pleads Guilty to Heroin Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – Christian Iversen, a 34-year-old resident of New Martinsville, West Virginia, has admitted to a serious drug charge, announced Acting United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard.

Iversen pleaded guilty today to one count of ‘Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin’ in a Marshall County court. The defendant admitted to having heroin in August 2019 in Marshall County.

According to the charges, Iversen faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David J. Perri is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

U.S. Magistrate Judge James P. Mazzone presided over the proceedings.

Iversen’s conviction is a significant blow to the heroin trade in West Virginia. The guilty plea serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of engaging in illegal drug activities.
