Milton Man Sentenced to Life for Child Exploitation

A 35-year-old Milton man has been sentenced to life in federal prison for his role in a child exploitation enterprise, according to a federal court in Pensacola.

Christopher E. Hoffman, of Milton, was found guilty of engaging in a child exploitation enterprise, receiving child pornography, and distributing child pornography. The sentence was handed down by Jason R. Coody, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

‘There is no greater charge than the protection of our children,’ said U.S. Attorney Coody. ‘This sentence is yet another example of the unwavering commitment to the protection of our most vulnerable and should serve as a significant deterrent to those who would attempt to harm them. We will continue to work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners to investigate and prosecute those who engage in such heinous conduct.’

In May 2021, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agents were investigating an online child pornography chat group when they saw a message from Hoffman’s online persona ‘Insario’ indicating that he had access to a child that he was sexually abusing and grooming for future abuse. Investigators were able to trace the online profile back to Hoffman at his address in Milton, Florida.

The arrest of Hoffman and the search of his home resulted in the seizure of several electronic devices, which contained multiple images of child pornography, in addition to over 2,000 images stored in his online account. Agents were able to identify the child victim and interviewed the child, revealing details of the abuse. Hoffman admitted to the abuse when confronted.

This case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorneys David L. Goldberg and Walter E. Narramore prosecuted the case. If released, Hoffman will be on supervised release for the remainder of his life and will be required to register as a sex offender.
