Florida Man Charged with Coercion and Enticement of a Minor in New York

A 26-year-old Florida man, CHRISTOPHER NUNEZ, has been charged with coercing a 15-year-old minor to engage in sexual activity in Westchester County, New York.

According to the Complaint filed on June 1, 2021, in White Plains federal court, NUNEZ communicated online with the minor using various social media platforms, including Discord and Snapchat. He used the social media username ‘PLMV23’ to persuade the minor to meet him in person for sexual activities.

NUNEZ traveled to New York from Miami, Florida, on or about April 30, 2021, and May 1, 2021, to meet the minor in person in Westchester County. He was charged with Rape in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child on May 2, 2021, in the Town of North Salem, New York.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office will be prosecuting these charges.

CHRISTOPHER NUNEZ, 26, of Miami, Florida, is charged with one count of coercion and enticement, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The FBI is asking anyone who may have encountered NUNEZ or whose child may have had any communications with him to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324).

The investigation is ongoing, with the FBI, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, and the New York State Police working together to identify perpetrators and victims.
