A federal jury in Oklahoma has delivered a guilty verdict against Chrystano Peder Carmelo Cooper, a 21-year-old Bahamian citizen, for his involvement in child exploitation crimes.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Cooper was found guilty of four counts relating to the production, distribution, receipt, and possession of child sexual abuse materials.

The guilty verdicts were the result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, which uncovered evidence that Cooper exploited a minor child through the production and sharing of child sexual abuse materials between December 2022 and February 2024 while attending college in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The trial, which began on November 12, 2024, and concluded on November 14, 2024, featured testimony from key witnesses and presented evidence against Cooper.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the trial and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Cooper will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal until sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jessie K. Pippin and Jessica Bove represented the United States during the trial.

Cooper’s sentencing will be scheduled following the completion of the presentence report. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma will continue to work tirelessly to protect the citizens of Oklahoma from such heinous crimes.
