Anthony Marcus Kelly, Death Threats Against ICE Agents, Ohio 2024

CINCINNATI – The grimy streets of Cincinnati are once again under the shadow of a criminal act. Anthony Marcus Kelly, a 38-year-old local man, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for a chilling series of death threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Kelly, who operated under the social media handle “Slab,” is accused of posting numerous messages calling for the murder of ICE officers and outlining his plans to acquire firearms to execute these threats. In one particularly sinister post, Kelly wrote, “#Gestapedos don’t deserve anything but the smoke coming for them anyway. #RevolutionIsTheSolution #DestroyICE they’re rabid dogs that need to be put down.”

The spree of terror began on June 26 and continued until July 17. According to authorities, Kelly’s rants included explicit threats against ICE agents, detailing his intent to shoot them dead without mercy.

Kelly was finally apprehended on July 22 and remains in federal custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison for threatening to assault or murder a United States official, as well as up to five years for making threatening interstate communications.

United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, Dominick S. Gerace II, along with HSI Detroit acting Special Agent in Charge Jared Murphey and FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Elena Iatarola, are leading the charge against Kelly. The United States is represented in this case by Criminal Chief Christy L. Muncy.

Despite the serious charges against him, Kelly is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
