A 29-year-old Clearwater man has been sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in federal prison for distributing and possessing child sex abuse material.
Zachary William Thomas was busted after chatting online with an individual on a social media app between February 13 and 16, 2024.
Thomas sent and received hundreds of images and videos of child sex abuse material, according to court documents.
The FBI executed a search warrant at Thomas’s home and seized two cellphones containing the disturbing content.
Thomas pleaded guilty on October 7, 2025, and was ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sex exploitation.
