A Panama City Beach man has been charged with a federal crime that’s got everyone on high alert: attempting to entice a minor. Amani Lawrence, 27, was indicted by a grand jury on the serious charge.
The alleged crime went down in Panama City Beach, Florida, where Lawrence is from. According to investigators, Lawrence tried to lure a minor into a situation that’s not suitable for anyone, let alone a kid.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Panama City Beach Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin M. Keen is prosecuting the case.
Lawrence appeared in federal court for his arraignment and is set to go to trial on May 26, 2026, before District Judge Mark E. Walker. If convicted, he faces 10 years to life in prison.
