A 65-year-old registered sex offender has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for abusing a minor on a commercial flight from Indianapolis to Orlando.
According to testimony, John Daniel Fowler, seated next to the minor, began by asking to see a photo taken through the plane window, then repeatedly invaded the child’s space, touching her despite her protests.
The abuse escalated when Fowler groped the minor under her blanket as she slept, only stopping when the plane landed in Orlando.
The minor immediately reported the assault to the flight crew, who notified authorities and separated the child from Fowler.
Fowler, a registered sex offender with a prior conviction for sexual battery, was convicted by a federal jury on January 13, 2026.
