CLEVELAND – In a stunning blow against drug trafficking in the Greater Cleveland region, Murray Foster, 39, has been sentenced to 120 months (10 years) behind bars for his involvement in a fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine conspiracy. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Pamela A. Barker after Foster pleaded guilty in April.
Foster’s crime spree, which spanned from April 1 to July 12, 2023, included the distribution of substantial quantities of deadly drugs. Court documents reveal that he and a co-conspirator intended to distribute at least 100 grams of fentanyl analogue, 400 grams of a fentanyl mixture, 500 grams of methamphetamine, and 500 grams of crack cocaine.
During a raid on several residences linked to the conspiracy, federal agents uncovered a treasure trove of illegal drugs and weapons. More than 500 fentanyl pills, five pounds of meth, one kilogram each of fentanyl analogues and cocaine, 28 grams of crack cocaine, five handguns, a rifle, a shotgun, over $19,000 in cash, and a motorcycle were seized.
Co-defendant Deion Thompson, 29, also from Cleveland, has pleaded guilty to his part in the conspiracy and is set for sentencing on January 5, 2026. This case is another victory for the Southeast Area Law Enforcement Task Force and the FBI Cleveland Division, who conducted the investigation.
Assistant United States Attorney Payum Doroodian led the prosecution against Foster, ensuring justice was served for the Northern District of Ohio. Foster has also been ordered to serve four years of supervised release after his prison sentence is completed.
This sentencing sends a clear message that drug traffickers will be brought to justice, no matter how gritty or dangerous their operations may be. The Grimy Times stands by law enforcement as they continue to protect the community from such threats.
