Clint Addleman Found Guilty in Bombing Case

A federal jury in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has found Clint Addleman, 49, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, guilty on all charged counts in connection with the bombing that killed a Clearfield woman in 2019.

According to the evidence presented during the seven-day trial, Addleman and his co-defendant Kris Nevling aided and abetted each other in the construction and possession of a destructive device—a bomb—which was subsequently concealed inside a package addressed to the victim using her nickname.

The package containing the bomb was delivered and left outside of the door to the victim’s first-floor apartment in a multi-unit rental property on East Market Street in Clearfield on October 4, 2019. The bomb detonated later that morning, killing the victim and causing a fire that destroyed the building.

The jury also determined that the victim’s death was a result of the commission of the conspiring to maliciously destroy and malicious destruction of property by explosive or fire offenses. Addleman was additionally convicted on a charge of conspiring to distribute a quantity of methamphetamine between January and October 2019.

The evidence established that the victim owed Addleman an outstanding drug debt of approximately $1,000.

Addleman is scheduled to be sentenced on July 22, 2026. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of up to life in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both. Under the federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based on the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorneys Maureen Sheehan-Balchon and Samantha A. Stewart and Special Assistant United States Attorney Shaun E. Sweeney prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Clearfield Regional Police Department, and Pennsylvania State Police conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Addleman.
